I went to my first NFL game yesterday and now I see what the ballyhoo is about-Tail Gate Parties...yes sir, 70,000 plus hanging out in a parking lot BBQing, tossing a football around, dressed in the same jerseys drinking beer...it was actually really fun. I know, this audience are artist types and tend to look down on jocky sports, but everyone is actually super cool. I walked around just looking around and ended up meeting all sorts of people that fed me steak sandwiches, ribs, chicken and shrimp. The crew I was with had five coolers of beer for 15 or so people! Eventually I went to the game...which was crazy enough on its own sitting in the nose bleeds amongst 70,000 people...crazy. You gotta go check it out if you never gone before...

Remember a while back when you could sit on the beach without a shirt on? Well that's just what I did, with beer in hand. Unfortunately though, the particular beach this beauty was snapped at often gets bumrushed by some wanna be ass C.H.I.P.S. riding on All Terrain Hater wagons that throw paper airplane tickets of large sums at cool people drinking cool drinks with an adult percentage of alcool in em. So like a man that lurks a little too close to the playground needs a fake nose and a moustache, I was forced to disguise my beverage so that these fools wouldn't capture me.

Things i learned....

1. The number of guests at The Stoop doubles when the quality of the guests is high.

2. There is a limited amount of space on The Stoop. One must have incredible hand foot coordination to maneuver when visiting.

3. All things Italian are good. Right Ko?

4. Americans do very a number of things well. Barbeque sauce is one them.

5. Lactose intolerance is nothing to be embarrassed of. It should be celebrated with frozen yogourt. In the event of an intolerance attack, please leave a dollar in the watercloset.

6. Please use any transportation device to reach the Stoop. Just make sure to do so.

7. A succesful party always requires an abundance of fare.

8. El Squmador is on it.

9. When at the Stoop, germs cannot spread between guests. All guests have immunity on the Stoop.

10. It is excellent to be home.

Please note:

Friends from the East will be visiting next week so next Sunday will be an important Stoop session. Visit your mothers then visit the Stoop.

Man, I don't believe I've seen anything like this before, whadda poll! It was apparent this was gonna be a tight one, right from the first click, making it clear Coors Light was going to be a major force in this poll. Right on it's tail though, as some may have predicted, was the underdog, Old Milwaukee. These old dogs stayed neck and neck for the most part but nobody could have known what would happen next, it seemed that Miller Lite might have a chance! Now I know some of you are speculating this is only due to their relation with the acclaimed High Life. Now I'd be lying if I said I didn't agree; it's a delicious, prosporous Brew to be marvelled. As if it hadn't even happened the poll was back bewtween Coors and Milwaukee leaving our other contenders, Bud, Miller and a poor little Canadian to eat their proverbial dust.
It was clear there were only two competitors in this poll now and things were heating up...so much so that I believe this is what won our title-holder the title of A Treat For The Roads Annual Light Beer of the Year Award.

Is a road pop still a road pop when it is legal to consume on the road, or does it make road popping less significant, less exciting, and dare I say redundant?

In my experience, breaking the law is always the right thing to do. By breaking the law, one is almost automatically guaranteed satisfaction and thrilling times. However, recently I have been presented with an issue. It is not illegal to drink alcohol in public in Germany, or as in the above case Italy, and hence possibly less fun. My new theory is that new forms of lawbreaking are necessary to achieve the same thrill that would be provided by simply taking a few brews to go. I have accumulated the following examples of possible actions to enhance Euro-Road Poppin:

ITALIA ROAD TRIP...

So, we decided to go to Italy. Booked the flight a few weeks ago. Anyway, end up being late for check in by 5 minutes, so we had to wait 11 hours to the next flight, which happened to leave at 6:25 am, form Berlin. In true road pops tradition, we didn't see this as misfortune, but opportunity to experience some tasty treats at the airport. With an abundance of entertainment, feast, and refreshments, we turned the quiet old airport into a regular friday night "party".

Cheap sweet vino turns into a quiet riot.

Having a hell of a time.

A few bottles of 2 Euro Chianti, half a dozen tallboys, an abundance of pistachios and euro pringles, and a two hour nap on the airport floor I was really wishing that this window could be rolled down for a bit of fresh air...

everybody knows that when offered shotgun (and by this i mean the front passenger seat of a car, not a can with a turbo hole in the side) on a day trip to the U.S.of.A that only an idiot would pass it up seeing as our neighbors laws allow for passengers to get hosed and gas stations stock some of the finest flavors at nearly every freeway exit. We were escorting a friend to the Seattle airport so that she could fly to the land of bigger beers to see BEERS. I decided that even though we weren't all the way south, we were south enough and my flavor choice was Mexican.

RSVP's are not required for stoop parties.

Invited guests are encouraged to bring uninvited guests. (union workers and suburbanites included)

All food must be consumed on The Stoop or in the event that space is limited the adjacent porch and sidewalk are accesible.

While on the stoop, all guests are required to engage in humourous storytelling and appreciation of The Stoop.

All guests are required to supply the ever so popular BEER for The Stoop bbq's. For those weight watchers, spirits and wine are allowed. Juice and pop are restricted to mixes. Coolers are PROHIBITED.

The hostess of The Stoop most often will provide an abundance of food. If a guest is offered, refusals are frowned upon. Outside food is encouraged.

Last and most importantly, everyone will eat and drink harmoniously together on The Stoop. The following feuds are uninvited: carnivores vs. vegetarians, strathcona vs. kitsilano, guinea vs. irish and of course the classic: TORONTO vs. VANCOUVER.

So after the stoop i carried on with the group to a licensed establishment that frankly i cared not to have any adult cocktails in and clearly opted for coca colas instead. It wasn't long before i grew tired of this indoor setting and decided to jump back on my steed and return to the ranch. HOWEVER, whilst on the dusty road home i received a tip off that a bonfire was going down at the beach and decided to sniff it out. The tip proved to be fruitful and what i found was:

There really is no better place on a warm Saturday evening to kick the feet out than on a neighborhood stoop. I was riding my two wheeled steed (with not a beer to my name) through this quiet residential and happened upon the closing segment of a BBQ. Not only was i offered a burger (i refused??) but also no sooner had i posted up on the step of my choice, was i handed an ice cold Kokanee. Here are some stats for the mathmatically inclined:
